A young runner from Mexico, Cara Montero, is shot on a Phoenix canal path on an early June morning. Daniel Hartwick, walking nearby, narrowly escapes injury. Daniel's attempt to help Cara draw him into a dangerous spy ring operating in his upscale Phoenix neighborhood.
