The decaying Victorian is packed to the rafters with museum-grade art deco jewelry, pristine furs, and priceless oddities.

Then she reads the price tags.

There are no dollar signs in Finch's ledger. A mint brooch demands three inches of bone marrow. A tailored mink coat costs the cornea of your left eye.

Assuming it's a sick prank staged by a dead eccentric, Maeve pockets a prized ring and heads for the exit. But the deadbolts slam shut, the windows turn impenetrable, and the inventory comes alive. Porcelain dolls flex their fingers, mounted heads snarl from the walls, and antique mannequins stalk the dark halls to collect what Maeve owes.
