INTRODUCTION Mycotoxins are toxic metabolites produced by fungi. According to WHO, about 25% of world's food is contaminated by mycotoxins. Fungi belonging to Aspergillus, Penicillium and Fusarium species are responsible for causing mycotoxins of agro- economic importance. Aflatoxin, Ochratoxins, Trichothecenes, Zearalenone and Fumonisins are mycotoxins of greatest agricultural concerns (Vasanthi and Bhat, 1998).
