Soil

A town built on an ancient, forgotten battlefield is plagued by an unusually fertile but disturbing red soil. Anything grown in it—vegetables, flowers, or even animals—is unnaturally large and exhibits a faint, terrible sentience, driven by the trauma and violence soaked into the land. The community finds the only way to appease the soil is by offering it fresh sacrifices.
