It is told in the present tense but we also get glimpses into her past as she reads journal entries from when she was a teen. Reading this book has really changed my life. If you have to choose between this book and Tiny Habits, I strongly recommend reading and using Tiny Habits instead. Also as the story progresses you come to understand and relate to the way he is, with that kind of career it can be hard to dedicate the time and resources to a personal life. Typical for Hoover’s books, this one flows easily and the plot lines mesh well without stepping on each other in a confusing way (as can often happen).
I truly believe this book should be used as a textbook in schools to teach kids about emotions. Each chapter is listed with a title Places We Go … followed by the experiences and emotions that will be discussed.
