The Classics Rewired: Rigor & Relevancy for Millennials

The Classics Rewired provides teachable moments for educators and demonstrates how teachers can build upon fundamental literature experiences. The book has examples of activities to explore and tools to utilize to teach the Classics. This is becoming more relevant as Common Core Text Exemplars include Classic literature at all grade levels. It is important for teachers to realize that we do not have to give up technology in order to meet Common Core standards or to teach Text Exemplars. Many students see classic literature as intimidating, out-of date, or just plain boring; with the right tools, teachers can take what was once a “must do” and make it a “wants to.” These tools bring students of varying abilities together in an engaging classroom experience.
