The Rules Are Changing

Christa tried to rise up against The General. She tried to fight for her people, and the powers he so desperately wants to squash.

She failed. And the price of that failure was greater than she could have ever imagined.

Now The General knows her people still live, hidden and safe. He knows they lurk in the shadows waiting for the chance to attack again. And he knows how to manipulate them.

And Christa isn't the only heir to their throne.

Her daughter also bears that right, and The General knows if he crowns her, her people will be forced to bow to him once and for all. With Christa safely locked in his prison, and her daughter naively enticed by the promised title of Queen, The General is well on his way to regaining the control that was briefly threatened. But, as he teaches his new queen to thirst for blood, those in hiding scramble to name a queen of their own, knowing if they wait any longer they'll be forgotten forever.

One queen embraces her place in a cruel world. The other longs to recreate a world that accepts her people.

One is given an army. The other sits unprepared for the war mounting on her doorstep.

Both are losing their powers in a world determined to consume them.

Somewhere between the luxuries of their kingdoms, and the betrayals of those around them, both queens must choose: forget the power coursing through their veins and lose themselves, or stand up against a kingdom that's hunted them since before they were born.
