The Good One

Synopsis: The Good One (Once Upon a Time in Luton)
Set in Luton, 1993, this darkly comedic and dramatic story follows Haroon Khan, a ten-year-old boy whose quiet, autistic nature clashes violently with the robust, volatile world of his Pakistani family. His father, Malik, toils at the Vauxhall plant, while his older brother, Yaseen, is a legendary schoolyard menace.
Haroon’s first day of secondary school is a pre-meditated disaster: Yaseen deliberately abandons him, forcing the anxious boy to navigate the brutal hallways alone. Immediately dubbed “the good one” by his head teacher (in painful contrast to his infamous brother), Haroon attempts to disappear.
