An Apple in Sarek

On a seven-day hike from Ritsem in the north to Aktse in the south, I journey through Sarek, Europe's last wilderness and a vast nature reserve in northern Sweden. During the hike, I photograph a glass apple and describe what happens each day, complemented by maps and the hiking route. The book can be used as a travel guide through Sarek, as the route I chose is quite popular and provides a good overview of the national park. I trek through Rapadalen, which is the toughest, wildest, and most beautiful place I have ever hiked. I get lost in the fog and, after seven days in a tent, I spend the night in the wood-heated Aktsestugan, where I recover before the helicopter ride to Kvikkjokk.
