The Digital Photography Gotta Know Fundamentals Series presents individual sessions teaching critical aspects of digital photography. The primary components of digital color photography are hue (the color of color), saturation (how intense that color is), and brightness (how light or dark the color is). Correctly balancing these three elements makes a picture appealing; ignoring this balance can have disastrous results. When it comes to sunrises and sunsets, nature's presents an ideal environment in which to learn how to control hue, saturation, and brightness.

Don’t expect a talking-head scientific lecture on the physics of color. This work is more in the Mr. Wizard style than that of Stephen Hawking or Michio Kaku. They’re in a whole other league. This series puts the cookies on the lower shelf for everybody to enjoy.
