Psychology Projects
Year 11, 2020
Descripción editorial
Psychology projects written by Year 11 students at Bedford Girls’ School during 2020.
THE SCIENCE JOURNALIST
For this project, students chose to research both an area of Psychology of personal interest and how to write an engaging and accurate science article. They then produced an article suitable for publication in a magazine.
THE CRIME-FIGHTER
For this project, students chose to research both a famously unsolved murder and the different types of offender profiling used by law enforcement. They then produced a short evaluation on how effective profiling can be and a brief profile of the type of person they would expect to be the perpetrator of the crime they had investigated.
THE COUNSELLOR
For this project, students were presented with a range of patients on whom they could choose to focus. They researched three types of therapy and then drew up a recommendation o the course of therapy they believed would best treat the patient.
THE ARTIST
For this project, students chose to research how Psychology or factors linked to people’s psychological state have influenced the work of a variety of artists. They used their research to help build up a portfolio of ideas, resulting in the production of an original piece of art of their own creation.
The students were guided by Paula Harrold, Head of Psychology at Bedford Girls’ School, who compiled the collection of work for publication.
Bedford Girls’ School is an independent day school for girls aged 7-18 in Bedford, UK, and is operated by the Harpur Trust.
