Puthara Salutation

During more than ten years now I am traveling India and always stay a longer period at the Hindustan Kalari Sangam in Kozhikode, as it has become a second home for me. 

I could witness the hard labour, afford and devotion, the people there are putting in teaching Kalaripayyatt and Ayurveda not only to people of their own kind, but as well to numerous foreigners coming from all parts of this world. 

This small book I dedicate not only to my dear friends of the Hindustan Kalari family, but as well to all the foreigners, who came and will come here, to learn Kalarippayat, which is much more than a martial art, but as well a holistic lifestyle. 

Nihkil Varagiri, the model chosen for the pictures, as an ardent dedicated Kalarippyat learner of Hindustan Kalari Sangam, has made his moves precisely and enhances the visual learning of the reader. Radhika Gurukkal, the first born trainer of the Hindustan Kalari Sangam, were in the frontier to guide the making process of this book, with her valuable knowledge on the vaitharies (verbal commands), suggestion on the serialization of the images, and made the book with less or no flaws.
