It's never a good thing when a vampire can't drink blood.
Bernie never thought she was a good vampire, especially as even the thought of drinking blood turns her stomach.
When she heads to a cooking class in the hope of fixing the issue, the last thing she expects is to meet another vampire who not only understands, but is willing to help her find a solution to her blood-drinking problems.
The moment he meets Bernie, Shane knows there's something special about her, and he's determined to make sure he helps her as much as he can, especially if that means he can capture her heart in the process.

Perfect not so perfect vampires
I love this series. Laura Greenwood wrote a lot of amazing series, but this might be my favorite series by her of all time. Not only because it's a lot of fun to get to know all the students and see them get their happy ending, but mostly because the supernatural people in these books are far from perfect. I was therefore very glad that I could get an arc via BookSprout.
The heroine in this book has been quite recently, for a vampire at least, turned. She has one big issue: She can't drink blood. It makes her sick and therefore she's already dreading the moment she has to drink more. Of course her blooddrinking issues are not all this book is about. There's also, of course, a very cute romance.
I love how the author found the perfect way for these characters to really help each other. This is not a poor girl being saved by a handsome guy. It's a strong girl and a smart guy helping each other out and discovering along the way that they also have all these amazing feelings for the other. It makes their interactions easy to read and most of all realistic.
I also loved how the author thought about the blooddrinking issues and what could cause an issue like that. Although the book is easy to read and not too complicated, it medically actually makes sense. On top of that I love how the author changes the fact that most people with illnesses and disabilities never see themselves represented as part of the supernatural community.
I can't wait to meet the characters starring in future books!
