Interessante uitwerking van het idee dat er een veelheid aan parallelle werelden ontstaan door het aftakken van een realiteit bij belangrijke gebeurtenissen die al dan niet doorgang vinden. De vondst van het stappen is geniaal alsook het inbrengen van trollen en elfen als oermensen die eerder hebben leren stappen dan de mens. Jammer dat het verhaal ietwat onsamenhangend is. Maar zeker het lezen waard.
