APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
We had always not-so-secretly hoped Cecelia Ahern might be tempted into a PS, I Love You sequel. Quite rightly, the bestselling Irish author waited and waited until she felt the right story presented itself. Fifteen years later, we think she’s found the perfect way to continue Holly Kennedy’s story. The power in Postscript comes from its unvarnished honesty. We rejoin Holly eight years after Gerry’s final letter has been delivered and find her grief has evolved into something quite complex. “I outlived my husband and now I’ve outgrown him,” Ahern writes. In Holly she presents a powerful, and at times, devastating study in loss and acceptance which entirely legitimises Holly’s initial reticence to engage with a PS, I Love You club that has been inspired by her and Gerry’s story. The members of the group are all preparing to succumb to terminal illness and quickly become leading characters themselves. Ahern captures their plights and personalities quite beautifully. This is a gorgeous book.
