Christmas Day In the Morning

A nine year-old boy greedily engages in all the family Christmas preparations the night before. He helps hang the tree! He wakes up pre-dawn to open his stocking, but thinks better of it!  He comes downstairs with his brother and sister and finds everyone's presents beneath the tree, and three particular ones of his own. This story/memoir is rich with humor and evocative detail, a nostalgia feast for one and all. It's great to read aloud as a Christmas classic, or to read to onesself for a literary holiday delight.
