Descripción editorial

This packet of materials was produced by the Population Education Pilot Curriculum Development Project of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, State of Washington, during 1973-74.  Designed for upper elementary and junior high school levels, these activities were developed and classroom-tested for SPI’s Office of Environmental Education (Division of Curriculum and Instruction).  These self-contained activities convey useful population concepts which can be used in a wide variety of subject areas — science, mathematics, social science, environmental science, and language arts.   Many of them are also suitable for use at other levels or will suggest ideas for activities appropriate to other levels.  Because this is a digital replica edition of a 1974 publication the U.S. population statistics included on some task cards are not current.
