Set in the world of ice hockey, the story follows Rhodes Hallen, who has just started his rookie year as a defenseman on the Boston Bay Vikings' roster and wears jersey number 39.


After being released from prison for a crime he didn't commit, Rhodes struggles to fit in with a team he thought he had lost his chance to play for. All he wants is to keep his head down and steer clear of trouble. Then he meets her.

Rosie Jenkins goes into hiding from her brother and his drug-dealing friends. However, she needs help, which leads her to Rhodes Hallen—hockey's bad boy.


She didn't expect to find a man with a loving heart under his rough exterior who would do anything to keep her safe.
