National Education in Hong Kong in the New Era

This book provides a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of national education in Hong Kong. At the societal level, it offers an in-depth understanding of a divisive issue for Hongkongers, elaborating the official approach so that diverse stakeholders have a basis for re-evaluating the nature and implementation of national education for rational and critical dialogue. Jason Cong Lin is Assistant Professor in the Department of International Education at the Education University of Hong Kong. He is the author of Multiculturalism, Chinese Identity, and Education: Who Are We? (2022). His research interests include philosophy of education, civic and multicultural education, politics of education, comparative education, and identity. His research has been published in well-regarded journals, such as Daedalus, Journal of Contemporary China, Globalisation, Societies and Education, Educational Philosophy and Theory, and Asia Pacific Education Review.
