How can technology increase pupil engagement with reluctant writers?

Throughout this research paper, consideration will be made to increase pupil engagement within reluctant writers in Year 4 through the use of technology. The action enquiry was undertaken in a school in the Welsh valleys. In 2017, there were a total number of 645 pupils within the school. 9.7% of these pupils were entitled to free school meals (FSM) and 93% reached expected levels at the end of Key Stage 2 (KS2). The School Development Plan (SDP) (2017) focused on the need to enhance writing in KS2 by providing pupils with a purpose for writing. This provided a basis to begin forming ideas to conduct the initial research. Within the school there are three year 4 classes. The research carried out will identify the reluctant writers within these classes to participate in the enquiry.
