Unexpected
Completely different from what people are used to hearing.
Great Book bad Reader
The audiobook reader makes anyone who’s not a main character sound mentally challenged. Poor Bron sounds like he was dropped 7-8 times as a baby. Any peasant and even some highborn men are completely intelligible. He slurs their speech beyond what a normal person should sound like. Imagine listening to 1000 pages of Mord conversing with Hodor. Really sad that this is the only option to listen to but I’m just gonna push through because I paid $30 for this and I’m not gonna waste it.
Possible fix for half book
For those who only have half the book, I think if you go into the track list you can find the other half. It restarts at track 1 in the middle of the book, and I think that confuses the player. I could do that with mine, anyway.
I’m not sure why people have issues with Dotrice. I very much enjoy his style. Sometimes the voices don’t match the idea I have of the characters, but that’s all personal perspective, and I certainly don’t know why my idea of what the voices should sound like should trump anyone else’s. I certainly have no trouble understanding him, and he has far more character than most readers.
