Amazing book!
If your not sure if you really want this book, trust what I say and buy it! Holly Jackson is a talented writer that really made me see everything and everyone she was describing in her book. The plot is overall entertaining and very well written. So do yourself a favor and give this book a try!

After all the good reviews, I picked this book up craving a thriller/mystery with twist and turns, and some delectable mind games in the mix. Unfortunately, this fell short for me personally.
First of all, it’s important to note that this is placed in high-school and every single character is written as such. It was like listening to a stereotypical high-school drama. I didn’t realize that wasn’t for me until after I bought it, but perhaps I’m just not the hit demographic. This doesn’t mean it isn’t well written, and the style is easy to consume whatever else faults it may have.
Pippa, as a character, was portrayed as clever and tenacious. She certainly was one of these. The way she was written, and the plotline itself, came off as her being in all the right places at all the right (or wrong depending on how you view it) times. She made decisions that put herself and others in danger, was short sighted, and somehow came out on top on pretty much all counts. I think this and her continued brazen, and unthought out behavior colored much of my view while reading and I never bounced back like I was hoping.
The love story takes a backseat to the plot, which was honestly alright with me as there was so much else going on it would have become crowded. The end was a bit anticlimactic if I’m honest. There were a lot of threads that were left along the way and I was really interested to see where they went, but they were never used and it was a pretty straight road to the finish line.
Narration was done really well.
All in all, probably not for me but if you can overlook silly character behavior and want a light mystery you might enjoy this. It personally fell flat for me.
