Publisher Description

INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER: Agent Pendergast faces his most unexpected challenge yet when bloodless bodies begin to appear in Savannah, GA.

A fabulous heist:

On the evening of November 24, 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked Flight 305—Portland to Seattle—with a fake bomb, collected a ransom of $200,000, and then parachuted from the rear of the plane, disappearing into the night…and into history.

A brutal crime steeped in legend and malevolence:
Fifty years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found with no blood left in their veins—sowing panic and reviving whispered tales of the infamous Savannah Vampire.

A case like no other:
As the mystery rises along with the body count, Pendergast and his partner, Agent Coldmoon, race to understand how—or if—these murders are connected to the only unsolved skyjacking in American history. Together, they uncover not just the answer…but an unearthly evil beyond all imagining.

Thrilling Story, OK Narration

I can’t wait to listen to Pendergast novels as they get released, and this one did not disappoint. Excellent premise and fantastic pacing, I was engaged the whole way. Unfortunately the narration was not up to par relative to the previous books in the series, and it takes a bit away from the story being told. Voices and dynamics were a bit all over the place, and some character voice choices were just plain bad.

I would still recommend this audiobook to lovers of the series, just be aware it’s nothing like the previous narrations.

I love these guys, but…

Preston and Child are great writers and I love Pentergast, but I had a problem with the narrator when he was reading Constance Greene. I know that she is supposed to be 200 years old in a young woman’s body, but does she have to sound like Katherine Hepburn in “ On Golden Pond”?
The other thing is what I perceive as the authors changing agent Coldmoon’s personality. They seem to have given more ambition to get ahead and stay out of trouble. He is also complaining and dissatisfied with working with Pentergast . I liked him more as a loyal ,stoic , sidekick. He was like a Sioux Kato in the other book. Good book , but please work on these two things in the next one.

Bloodless

I looked forward to the release of this latest edition of the Pendergast series and I liked the story however the gentleman that read the audio version of the book was a huge disappointment. He was in no way close to the voice and demeanor of the characters in the past audio versions.
