Publisher Description
This beloved Newbery Medal-winning novel by bestselling author Katherine Paterson is a modern classic of friendship and loss.
Jess Aarons has been practicing all summer so he can be the fastest runner in the fifth grade. And he almost is, until the new girl in school, Leslie Burke, outpaces him. The two become fast friends and spend most days in the woods behind Leslie's house, where they invent an enchanted land called Terabithia. One morning, Leslie goes to Terabithia without Jess and a tragedy occurs. It will take the love of his family and the strength that Leslie has given him for Jess to be able to deal with his grief.
Bridge to Terabithia was also named an ALA Notable Children’s Book and has become a touchstone of children’s literature, as have many of Katherine Paterson’s other novels, including The Great Gilly Hopkins and Jacob Have I Loved.

Book
The book is fun to read with classmates but death is a really powerful word to use in a children’s book it was really sad when Leslie died … I’m going to give the. Book a 8/10
Reading this book as a child
I read this is book when I was a kid, and normally my parents asked me what book this was and I said the exact plot of the story and they weren’t mad, they just wondered why I would read a type of book like this. But how a found this book was interesting, I was in class in 5th grade then I walked upon this shelf and there was the book. I started reading it, it got boring. But then when I read more of the book, I was basically being seduced by this book, I watched the movie years later while reading the book because I bought my own book and read it at home it was a good experience reading the book. I give the book a 10/10 I think Katherine Paterson should make a graphic novel version of this book. I’m pretty sure Katherine Paterson is working on it right now…
So ……
I haven’t finished the book but it’s so good and it’s heartbreaking and a little dramatic by Jess’s sisters but it’s truly a good book
