At time of this review I’m at 95% through the audiobook. It has a lot of good info, narrator (the author) clear and to the point. But at times it feels that I’m listening to an infomercial for the AMEN CLINIC. Sorry can’t give 5 ⭐️ but 4.1
Change Your Brain
I love this book. I play it while cleaning, driving, and during my reading down time. Dr. Amen is experienced and sincere in giving us excellent information that will lead us to improving our brains. The examples of his brain scans are so inspiring and enlightening. The chapters dealing with prisoners getting brain help and people dealing with any type of trauma is remarkably helpful for the health industry and prison reform systems. I’m still just into the first half of the book and I am already sending messages to all 6 of my children and family members and friends to get the book! My sister and oldest son started first and we have all been spreading the word.
Untangling the brain at its core!
I am a mirror-image twin (36 yrs old) and without realizing it, at a young age I started mimicking “life” when I ever encountered something that scared me to death...like hurting someone’s feelings. I have a long way to go, but reading this book has slowly been giving me the ability to slow my thoughts long enough to process emotions and naturally react instead of automatically retreating. It also started me on the road to figuring my brain out solo and dealing with my level of mental issues without feeling like life’s impossible. Having something as simple to lean on as an informative and enjoyable book made my anxiety lessen immensely. I’m very grateful to have it!
