Customer Reviews
An enchanting tale of human progress.
Having read the full novel about ten years ago, when I was an adolescent, I found myself as I listened to this audio book reaching back to those days when I was such a dreamer. Jodie Foster does an admirable job reading this story, using different voices for each character that give them a sense of depth. My only regret is that this abridged version omits many interesting details of the full novel, such as the more lengthy encounters between Arroway and Palmer and the pivotal role of SR Hadden. Still, listening to this enthralling story really stimulates your mind and captures your imagination.
If only we all could see existence as Carl Sagan did
I often find myself in awe of what hydrogen atoms are capable of after 15 billion years of evolution. Thanks to you Carl, for helping enlighten a small man with complex expositions.
Amazing and fascinating tale
Carl Sagan has the ability to makes people open their mind for a bit, and actually take a closer look into our huge universe. I have read the book and seen the movie, and i truly have to say that he is one of the best science authors of his time.
