Publisher Description

A competitive diver and an ace swimmer jump into forbidden waters in this steamy college romance from the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis.

Scarlett Vandermeer is swimming upstream. A Junior at Stanford and a student-athlete who specializes in platform diving, Scarlett prefers to keep her head down, concentrating on getting into med school and on recovering from the injury that almost ended her career. She has no time for relationships—at least, that’s what she tells herself.

Swim captain, world champion, all-around aquatics golden boy, Lukas Blomqvist thrives on discipline. It’s how he wins gold medals and breaks records: complete focus, with every stroke. On the surface, Lukas and Scarlett have nothing in common. Until a well-guarded secret slips out, and everything changes.

So they start an arrangement. And as the pressure leading to the Olympics heats up, so does their relationship. It was supposed to be just a temporary, mutually satisfying fling. But when staying away from Lukas becomes impossible, Scarlett realizes that her heart might be treading into dangerous water...

Spot on accent

The other review almost made me not purchased this audiobook, but then I bought it just because I really wanted to listen to it. It’s literally a Swiss accent. He sounds spot on. I don’t know what that other comment is talking about, but I really like the voice of the person playing Lucas now the person playing Scarlett. She sounds a little bit older than the main character and it’s throwing me off a little bit.

My comfort listen

I have so much to say…This was my first Ali Hazelwood book, I loved it so much it led me to immediately seek out every other Ali book on the market and devour them. I know now that Deep End is unique compared to her others, both in its themes and amount of spicy scenes.
This book will always have a soft spot in my heart and it’s now my comfort listen. I listen to this book whenever I finish another book and need a palate cleanser. People give this book a hard time for Penelope’s behavior but I think it just adds to the plot and Scarlett’s character development. I don’t need the plot to be fluffy, I like a little drama and internal conflict. Just a heads up, this book discusses kink and bdsm. I don’t usually seek out books with these themes but I still loved it. It’s so well done and feels so much a part of the characters that it’s adding to the story in a way vanilla spicy scenes in other books never could. I never feel pulled away from the story.
Lastly I have to mention the narrators. They are so so so good. At first I kind of thought Therese Plummer’s voice was too mature for Scarlett but after the first couple chapters I thought it was a perfect choice and I feel Ben does a great Swedish accent. I’ve seen other reviews saying they don’t like the voices but I think they deliver a perfect performance that makes you wanna put in headphones, be alone, and sink into the story
like a movie.
Overall this book is just my jam and I really recommended giving it a shot.

Odd to me

Unfortunately, I hate the way. This book is written sometimes it is hard to follow and the people narrating. This are absolutely terrible. In my opinion. I would’ve enjoyed it better with a totally different cast.
