Anne Elliott, Jane Austen's only aging heroine, has devoted her life to caring for her financially irresponsible family. Just when she is growing content with her uneventful lifestyle, a long-lost flame re-enters the picture -- now as the beau of her significantly younger cousin. Anne is now faced with a choice: will she watch Captain Wentworth settle into life with another woman, or will she strive to win back his love and escape her family?
Wrong Narrator... Again.
Once again I bought an audiobook based on who the narrator was labeled to be and was incredibly disappointed when I heard the actually reading. Chloe Boyle has a wonderful reading voice and this is definitely not her. So unhappy.
Book Is Great Reading Is Not
I bought this audiobook because it was the least expensive. It’s hard to listen to a reading of Jane Austen by someone who isn’t British, but I knew that before I made my purchase. I did not know there would be word mispronunciations semi-frequently. It is so distracting. If that doesn’t bother you then this book a very economical choice.
