Anne Elliott, Jane Austen's only aging heroine, has devoted her life to caring for her financially irresponsible family. Just when she is growing content with her uneventful lifestyle, a long-lost flame re-enters the picture -- now as the beau of her significantly younger cousin. Anne is now faced with a choice: will she watch Captain Wentworth settle into life with another woman, or will she strive to win back his love and escape her family?

The background noise was distracting while listening on a loud volume.
What happened to Chapter 24? The end??!!
So, this was a cheap purchase for me because I had some change left on a gift card and have been going through all of Jane Austen’s works again. I was fine with the reader even though she tripped over her words often and didn’t really read with any eloquence and didn’t change her voice or tone to distinguish characters but I give it 1 star due to the fact the chapter 24 is completely missing! The ending of the book is t even offered!
I’ve come to love Chloe Boyle’s readings of Mansfield Park and Sense and Sensibility, and have sought out her versions of other Austen novels. This was wrongly labeled as being read by here and I was highly disappointed by what I purchased.
