Publisher Description
British comedian, stand-up performer, and actor Eddie Izzard on this edition of Fresh Air. Izzard is currently selling out venues in the U.S. and Canada with his new stand-up show Circle. He has won over fans with his quirky comedy and his cross-dressing. The Chicago Tribune says, "Izzard lives up to his billing. He's very bright, very fast, and very hip." As an actor, Izzard has appeared in the films Mystery Men, The Avengers, and Velvet Goldmine. (Broadcast Date: May 30, 2000)
Customer Reviews
Enjoyable and interesting
While I agree with one above reviewer that Gross seems a bit obsessed with Izzard's TVism, I was actually fascinated to hear his thoughts on gender and sexuality. As to the other reviewer, who was looking for Izzard being funny, please understand the point of an interview - it is not stand-up.
My god, what a bore and a waste of money.
I purchased this w/ the hope of hearing about one of my favorite comics, but the whole damn thing is about his crossdressing. Great. A big miss for a potentially enjoyable interview.
He's a transvestite - get over it
Terry seems preoccupied with Izzard's transvestism. I wanted to hear about his education, his acting career, his thoughts on world events, etc. She kept asking him shopping questions! Not at her best on this one.
