Meditation brings you into a deep communion with your own body and heart, but what happens when you are sick or in pain? With Guided Meditations for Self-Healing, Jack Kornfield guides you through meditations created specifically to ease physical and emotional suffering, and activate a powerful capacity for restoring yourself to wholeness. We are conditioned to approach healing as an act of control, in which we judge what is wrong with us and impose a change. The way of awareness teaches us how to turn toward that which is injured in us with a caring and fearless attention, so we may open the door to true healing at every level of our being.
Format Reduces Usefulness
I was hoping my 96-year-old father could use a CD of this audiobook as a source of guided meditations he could listen to regularly. Unfortunately, the whole book is one giant track, rather than being spilt up into multiple tracks. So he either listens to the whole thing over and over from the beginning (waiting 30 minutes for the first guided meditation), or I have to manually edit it. A title that begins "Guided Meditations" implies a format that's a bit more user-friendly, I think. But my father really likes Jack Kornfield's guided mediation called "The Healing Power of Love," which seems to be excerpted from this book, so people looking for easy-to-use meditation tracks could check that out.
