Herbert West
I love H.P. Lovecraft, and although this is his most "pulp fiction" story, it is still a good one. The guy doing the reading is amazing; great voice, great emotion, and great job making it easy to "get lost" in the story.
My only complaint is that some of the sound effects sometimes are hard to understand and cover the narrator's voice. This only happens a couple of times though, and overall it is a great recording.
way too many sound effects
i had to turn it off 12 minutes in because i couldn't deal with all the random screams and applause and weird left-right-left thrumming. super super distracting. the reader does a great job, but his voice sounds auto-tuned or something. it kind of reminds me of a powerpoint presentation with every bullet point doing a barrel roll onto the slide.
again, the reader seems solid, but personally i think all the crazy effects are excessive and distract from the story.
