Useful for planting the seeds
I’ve never studied writing or comedy and I knew basically everything in this book just from being interested and paying attention to comedy television. I definitely am more aware of comedy methods and names, but I don’t feel any more equipped to *create* it. The fact that this is one short book in a series makes me feel like I’m being urged to buy the other books without having enough substance to want to buy the next books in the series.
NOT as advertised
What I was expecting was, how to write jokes and funny stories that make people laugh. What I got was, how to take a complaint or political point and hide it in a not funny joke. The “subtext” is, the politic is the point and if people laugh, that’s a bonus. It’s sad that comedy has come down to this low level. I highly recommend that you spend your money elsewhere.
