This is a hate to love, brother’s best friend/best friend’s little sister, forced proximity, secret relationship hockey romance. Beatrix rage quit her job and came home to her roommates having sex in the living room for the last time. She officially moved out of her apartment and placed herself at her brother’s mercy. Now she is sleeping in the loft of his apartment on a futon without even the benefit of a door. But that isn’t the real problem. She now has two roommates, her manwhore older brother who is constantly bringing home a woman or women and the real problem, her brother’s roommate. Tristan is a seriously hot hockey player whom she hates and who hates her back. Rix has known Tristan since they were kids and they have always been exceptionally good at pushing each other’s buttons. Tristan has had way too much responsibility ever since his mother left when he was twelve and he had to step in to help care for his younger brothers. Now his roommate, “Flip,” has invited his sister to live with them and he doesn’t want to have to take care of one more person. If only she hadn’t grown into such an incredibly sexy woman who pushes his every button, Now the fighting feels more like foreplay and it won’t be long before someone breaks.

As usual, the author has woven a compelling story that hooked me from the first chapter. The narrators were perfect and made this audiobook a joy to listen to. The chemistry was incredibly hot. Tristan is a dirty talking sex god and Rix is his equal in every way. Both of them came to their relationship with baggage and they have a lot of hurdles to overcome before reaching their happily ever after. It made an amazing story to see their emotional connection grow gradually, and the groundwork set for continuing to work through past trauma to make their relationship even stronger over time. I loved Rix’s strength in insisting on the communication and respect that she deserved. I loved Tristan’s willingness to be vulnerable for her. The one thing I miss in this book is the comedy which made the Pucked series so enjoyable. Regardless, I would shout to the rooftops that this is a can’t miss book for fans of contemporary hockey romance. I am voluntarily leaving this review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Good Girls PR and Ink & Cupcakes, Inc.
