A Fabulous Start to a New Series! Great Story & Audible Listen🎧
Kandi Steiner pens another winning novel, enemies-to-lovers forced proximity sports romance that is captivating from start to end. This is the first book of her new “Kings of the Ice” series and wow, what a start it is. Maven King, a social media influencer, is starting a new chapter in her life and, as the newest Tampa Bae Babe and her assignments, will focus on Tampa Bay’s sport teams. Her first assignment was covering a charity auction, and she already made an impression with one of the hockey players and it was not a good one, not that he impressed her. Her ex boyfriend, a privileged pro-athlete, left a nasty taste in her mouth and she will never get involved with another. Vince Tanev, aka Vince Cool, is the rookie player for the Tampa Ospreys hockey team. He is on top of his game and his goal is to not only get the team to the playoffs but to be named the most valuable rookie/player. He met Maven at the auction and in the few minutes they were talking, she got under his skin, despite that he could not get her out of his head. The photo Maven posted of Vince and the hideous vase went viral. The two founders of the Tampa Bae Babes got an exclusive for Maven “One Month with Tampa’s Hotshot Rookie, Vince Cool”, an all access, 24/7 coverage. They did not know that her first interaction with him did not go that well, but this is an opportunity she can not pass up. The angst and tension between these two is through the roof, so is the chemistry despite her feeling toward rich athletes. I loved how everything played out in this book, the writing and plotting is fantastic, as is the world building and character growth and development. The drama is non-stop, the dialogue and back-and-forth banter are brilliant and the romance is steamy. Kandi Steiner, thank you for another fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧And for the fantastic narration, Edward Black and Megan Wick are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They did a great job portraying these characters, giving each a voice that fit that character’s persona and was believable in every role they played. Wick nailed it as Maven, grasping all sides of her personality, and Black did the same as Vince. Both were fantastic performing the roles of all the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced this already terrific story to another level. Thank you for this wonderful listen.

𝙺𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚒 𝚂𝚝𝚎𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚛 did it again, y’all! She created another great start to a new sports romance series. And, oh what a start it was!
Vince Tanev + Maven King. They were awesome characters! I will admit I was a little put off by Maven’s attitude in the very beginning but by the end of the story I knew she needed to be that way!
Vince Tanev. Holy hockey players! Wow. I really loved him! He falls first and oh boy does he fall! I loved watching him through this story.
Megan Wicks is a new to me narrator and I truly enjoyed listening to her sultry voice bring Maven to life! And Edward Black once again nails it narrating Vince’s character. I feel these two narrators are a perfect combo!
From hot hockey players to social media content creators to snarky banter, angst for days and off the charts spicy chemistry, this is another amazing hit from the talented hands of Kandi Steiner! Loved it and can’t wait for book 2!

I really enjoyed this story. The forced proximity was just - chefs kiss. I loved how hard Vince fell and how much he fought to get through Maven’s walls. They were such a cute couple and I adored their story.
This was a great start to a series and I can already see some upcoming couples I am dying to hear about! 😏
Audiobook Review: I liked both of these narrators. The duel narration style is my fav for sure. The only issue I really had was when the female narrator didn’t always match the vibe of the scene when she would pop in during Vince’s perspective. Her voice would sound monotone at times. Other than that it was perfect!
