I made sure I never had a quiet moment to figure out who I was without her. I was afraid of that moment because I didn’t know what I’d find.
I wrote this book in an effort to understand my place in a watershed moment: the technology renaissance, the age of influencers. I also wrote this book so that the world could know who I am today. I focused on key aspects of my life that led to what I am most proud of--how my power was taken away from me and how I took it back, how I built a thriving business, a marriage and a family.
There are so many young women who need to hear this story. I don’t want them to learn from my mistakes; I want them to stop hating themselves for their own mistakes. I want them to laugh and cry and embrace every aspect of who they are with fearlessness and pride. We all have our own brand of intelligence, and, girl, f**k fitting in.

Love it!
Solid decent read.
I liked how honest she seems to be, but can’t help but pick up on her narcissistic personality. Her being so open about the abuse she endured in her teen years is brave, as well as her opening up about the tape scandal. But she thinks everything she’s done is greater than it is. For example, she referred to the movie “House of Wax” as a classic. It’s really not. She also goes on a decent amount about how much she wants a daughter… which is only odd because after that she mentions being pregnant with her son. A bit odd to go on and on about how you want a daughter while pregnant with a boy. Even her IVF journey she talks about trying to get a girl. I also don’t think she fully comprehends the privilege she comes from, being a woman or not. She says she does, but after listening to this I don’t think she fully comprehends it. It almost felt like she said it cause she has too. This wasn’t the best nor the worst book I’ve listened too. I don’t think it’s worth $17 dollars tho. Also, I wish she would have let someone else narrate it! It sounds like she’s trying to be seductive the whole time, it’s weird and you can’t convince me that’s her real voice lol.
Pro-social Self-disclosure
You should start listening because this woman does not talk. She purrs her words, and not as an affectation. It’s just the way she speaks.
Secondly, she is a fantastic and sincere narrator of her own experience. Her self-disclosed ADHD enriches rather than diminishes the delivery. She explains the sensory hungry mind. And then she brings you into her advocacy work, derived from her own mistreatment at the hands of those who were trusted by her unwitting and exasperated family.
She offers the humbling perspective that despite all privileges, there is nothing to protect even the most well-heeled from harm. Harm is everywhere, and predators wait around the corner in seemingly legitimate contexts.
And yet, she is a trauma overcomer, and stands in her triumph, inviting women especially to join her there.
I experienced her as nothing but trying to be sincerely helpful to others in writing this book.
Having her purr her life testimony to the listener felt like engaging in true privilege.
