Ardor Creek, Book 4
She came back to win…and to rewrite a narrative created so long ago…
Chad Hanson has one true love: being mayor of Ardor Creek. With his charming personality, kind nature, and adoration of the small town, it’s as if he were born for the role. Although he dates constantly and loves playing the field, he’s never come close to falling for someone the way he loves his job.
Abby Miller left Ardor Creek after high school, determined to become something other than a pariah. Chad Hanson had accidentally bequeathed her the name “Flabby Abby,” which destroyed any chance of making friends or having a normal high school existence.
Two decades later, Abby returns, fierce and confident after her tenure as a senior advisor for a prominent Washington D.C. senator. Armed with her skills and experience, she begins an invigorating campaign to become the first female mayor of Ardor Creek…and to exact a smidge of payback against Chad.
Chad is blown away by his opponent. Drawn to her, he slowly realizes she might actually win…not only the election, but Abby Miller might be the first woman to capture his heart.
Welcome back to Ardor Creek! If you love sizzling banter that cracks you up and makes you snicker, smokin’ hot love scenes, and a sweet frenemies-to-lovers tale, this book is for you! The Ardor Creek gang is back and ready to watch serial dater Chad Hanson fall in love. Enjoy!

I believe in 2nd chances and this book/audiobook was all about it. The FMC is is a strong, confident and driven woman. The MMC is a player.
I really liked the way the main characters maneuvered working together. The banter was awesome and the humor was perfect in this story. It was interesting and light. The dirty talk is yummy. And the spice was so, so good. So happy about the HEA because it showed that mistakes could be made and overcome. I really this book/audiobook and cant wait to listen to the next one. I would definitely recommend this book.
Excellent Narration
Narration Review- in this Duet Narration, Kai Kennicott performs the female voices while Wen Ross performs the male voices. They are clear and easy to understand. They do a great job in their roles. 5/5.
Story Review:
MMC/FMC- Chad and Abby
POV- 3rd person
Genre- Contemporary Romance
Sub Genre- Small Town Romance
Heat level- they do the things and name the parts, and there was much rejoicing.
Series? Y 4/6
Triggers- Language, Erotic Content, History of Bullying.
Tropes- Bully Romance, Enemies to Lovers, Midlife Love
What I liked- I love that this book featured an older hero and heroine! Middle Aged characters can still have zexytime! Also, I like that Chad was redeemed.
What I didn’t- the story got slow in parts
Verdict- recommended.

A Beautifully Delightful Story! Fabulous Narration & Listen🎧
I loved everything about this frenemies to lovers romance novel, from Ayla Asher’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who brought it all to life from the pages to my ears. It is great to be back in Arbor Creek again, it has become one of my favorite fictional town, the world building is phenomenal and Ms. Asher definitely created something special in that town and that would be the people and that tight-knit circle of friends, these characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to fall for and care about too. Chad Hanson loves being the Mayor of Ardor Creek, he has never found a special someone to share his life because no one matches that love. He finds his dates and one-night stands on dating and hook up apps, which he is perfectly happy with. Chad does not have many regrets, but he is not proud of what he did to Abby Miller in High School, his name calling destroyed her and ruined the rest of her school year. Abby left Ardor Creek soon after and after college she had a successful career in Washington, DC, as a political adviser. She decided it was time for her to step out from behind the scenes and run for office herself, not any office but the Mayors Office in Ardor Creek which she has every intention of winning and being the first female Mayor of Ardor Creek, the bonus is the payback to Chad for what he had done to her the last election they faced together, the one in H.S. Chad does not recognize Abby when he first sees her but it does not take him long to realize who she is. I loved how everything plays out in this charming small town romance, the story is beautifully plotted and contains a whole lot of heart. Ayla Asher, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride, I loved every minute of it.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that suited their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. This dynamic duo are entertaining storytellers and their duet performance enhances an already awesome story another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.
