All-new action in the #1 New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series
When mechanic and shapeshifter Mercy Thompson attempts to return a powerful Fae book she'd previously borrowed in an act of desperation, she finds the bookstore locked up and closed down.
It seems the book contains secret knowledge-and the Fae will do just about anything to keep it out of the wrong hands. And if that doesn't take enough of Mercy's attention, her friend Samuel is struggling with his wolf side-leaving Mercy to cover for him, lest his own father declare Sam's life forfeit.
All in all, Mercy has had better days. And if she isn't careful, she might not have many more to live...

Excellent
If you haven’t read or listened to any of Briggs’s novellas one that is extremely relevant to this tale is Silver. You can find it in the Shifting Shadows collection of stories. I am glad I did because it gives so much more depth to Samuel’s story.
If you are trying to start the series here at book five, stop go back and start from the beginning, you are going to be lost. I think you should read Silver, but it isn’t necessary.
In Silver Borne Mercy has firmly come to a decision and Adam is her mate. What about poor Samuel? He and Mercy agreed in Iron Bound that they weren’t mates. However, the pack isn’t happy, and Samuel is back to being suicidal. To top it all of Mercy has a group of Fae looking for a book that she borrowed and now missing people on her hands. Trouble and chaos follow Mercy.
This was another story that I remembered from 9 years ago. Not all of it, but I remembered that Samuel wasn’t left hanging. He is a favorite character of mine, and I am glad he gets a reprieve.
