“Splendid.” —People
“The perfect book for anyone who knows that compassion isn’t only for humans, and that the relationship between two souls who are meant for each other never really comes to an end. Every now and then I’m lucky enough to read a novel I can’t stop thinking about: this is one of them.” —Jodi Picoult
“It’s impossible not to love Enzo.” —Minneapolis Star Tribune
“This old soul of a dog has much to teach us about being human. I loved this book.” —Sara Gruen
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Garth Stein’s 2008 heartfelt bestseller may be the only novel narrated by a dog that can bring you to tears. But it’s also howlingly funny—and that combination works particularly well in this audiobook adaptation. The late actor Christopher Evan Welch (Silicon Valley) handles the tumultuous story of headstrong race car driver Denny and his faithful canine companion, Enzo, with exceptional grace. He delivers the book’s mix of gut-wrenching family drama and deadpan humor without a hint of mawkish sentimentality. Welch’s performance is particularly moving when dealing with the subtle spiritual aspects of The Art of Racing in the Rain. Pro tip: Always have a hankie handy while listening.

I pictured the whole movie
I started reading without watching the movie, so that I could get an idea of the main story, but when I was by the last few chapters I saw the movie and I cried in the end of the book and the movie
The Art of Racing in the Rain
This book is absolutely amazing. I love how it is told from the dogs perspective and actually narrated by the dog, Enzo. I am not a reader but I absolutely LOVED this book! I highly recommend it to everyone!
Horrible
I was so disappointed. I had seen the trailer and it looked good but the book is just really made me uncomfortable and I don’t want to see my dog that way so don’t even bother because then you’re just going to get uncomfortable when your dogs around. Like gross no thank you. It had the potential to be a good book but the writing was just very unpleasant.
