The #1 New York Times bestselling series finale and sequel to A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night.
Look for the hit TV series “A Discovery of Witches” airing Sundays on AMC and BBC America, and streaming on Sundance Now and Shudder.
Bringing the magic and suspense of the All Souls Trilogy to a deeply satisfying conclusion, this highly anticipated finale went straight to #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. In The Book of Life, Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present—facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches—with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency.

The Book of Life is my favorite of the All Souls Trilogy. Diana finally fully accepts her role as a witch weaver and accomplishes a task that none outside of the de Cleremont’s select few believed possible. The story wraps up nicely but in all honestly could have used an epilogue that ties in Gallowglass with the babies later in life. The narrator did a nice job with different character voices but was not quite up to snuff for my speed of enjoyed reading. I found the speed of 1.5x to 1.75x worked best for me.
DEBORAH HARKNESS: YOU ARE A WEAVER¡¡¡¡
What a journey! I have enjoyed this trilogy completely. What an astounding mythical tale that is completely relatable to modern day trials with belonging, differences and unity. Each character is multifaceted with qualities found all over the world. The history and geography was painted so vividly, one could feel as if they were walking through time. The reader is given the latitude to imagine the future of beloved characters with the knowledge they will all join together to fight another day for family, love and justice. Very well done!
