APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
It ain’t easy being a young dragon, at least not in the first installment of this charming fantasy series. Young Clay and his friends are dragonets—immature dragons-to-be—who are being guarded by a group of pacifist dragons who believe one of them will fulfill a prophecy that will bring peace after a decades-long war. When the restless youngsters bust out, they soon realize that danger is closer than they thought. The Wings of Fire series is geared toward middle-school kids, but author Tui T. Sutherland balances the exciting battle and action scenes with a nuanced story and likable characters. Narrator Shannon McManus has an absolute blast giving voice to dragons big and small, dastardly and courageous. No matter how old you are, The Dragonet Prophecy is an absolute treat to listen to.
