This is the best book in the whole entire world! I read all of the other books in the percy jackson series and this one is the best! Rick Riordan has out done himself by far!

I read the whole series in a month, a tolkien fans thoughts...

I am the biggest Tolkien nut ever! I have just read this entire series (bought every book too...) starting at the beginning of October. I just might like Percy Jackson and the olympians better, than John Ronald, Reuls works. Riordan makes you LOVE the characters, he makes you really search your feelings and think. I think personally, in a sense, Riordan has become the modern day Tolkien. When Tolkien wrote the LOTR, (he mainly did it for an outlet for his love of language, and the ones hee has created. He didn't even think it'd be popular, who knew?) he wanted to give England it's own mythology, seeing as how the ones THOUGHT to be English were actually borrowed from other European countries like France (King Arthur, Knights of the Round table, a-cough-cough...) What Riordan has done is similar, in fact more literal than what the Great Oxford Prof. did. He LITERALLY gave America it's own mythology. He found a way to relate greek mythology to modern day western civilization, no easy feat. By the way, harry potter is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compared to this. I hated it before but PJ and the Olympians has just stomped it dead into the ground. It's completely first rate, CAN"T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE, and I recomend it to anybody! Y'know what, I'm getting a camp Half-Blood T-shirt.

Good Book, but audio skips section

I enjoyed the audiobook, but about 2hours and 45 minutes in it skips a section of the audio. I attempted a new download from I-Tunes, but it did the same thing at the same spot. I don't think it was a long section, but I may never know.
