Publisher Description

From legendary science fiction author Kim Stanley Robinson comes a remarkable vision of climate change over the coming decades.

The Ministry for the Future is a masterpiece of the imagination, using fictional eyewitness accounts to tell the story of how climate change will affect us all. Its setting is not a desolate, postapocalyptic world, but a future that is almost upon us—and in which we might just overcome the extraordinary challenges we face.

It is a novel both immediate and impactful, desperate and hopeful in equal measure, and it is one of the most powerful and original books on climate change ever written.

The last hope! ,

So Important!

This is without question one of the most important pieces of fiction I’ve read in years.

We all know our world is in trouble and our civilization is in danger but few of us can imagine a different world. Someone once said, “it easier to imagine the end of world than it is to imagine the end of capitalism”. And honestly I’ve found that to be true. This book is a powerful boost to the imagination, close enough to reality to grasp. I think everyone needs to read this....it gave me hope

Ministry of the Future

The story gets lost in between all the gratuitous preaching.

Important message but a slow read

I’m torn, because I found the key lessons from this book really important despite this being a rather slow and somewhat scattered storyline. I guess I expected a more consistent story / plot vs what felt like a series of vignettes.
