Publisher Description
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Say You'll Remember Me comes a beautiful, compelling novel that revels in laughter, friendship, and the messy choices life can throw our way.
In everyone’s life, there’s a split-second decision that can change everything...
For Larissa, it came when choosing who to ride home with after a concert. That night, she had no idea she’d met the perfect man. She and Chris are great friends, co-parenting a slightly unhinged rescue Yorkie, sharing their favorite books, and judging bread (pumpernickel for the win!). For the first time amid all her side hustles to scrape by, things finally feel easy.
But she didn’t choose Chris to drive her home all those months ago—she went with his best friend, and he became her boyfriend. All Chris wants is for Larissa to be happy. Standing by on the sidelines is slowly killing him, but making a move would destroy someone else. How can something that feels so right be absolutely impossible?

So Good
I wish I could give it 4.5 stars, it would have gotten 5 stars if it hadn’t been quite so long and if Larissa hadn’t been so naive about Mike’s behavior, especially after dating 6 months and more. It did make me cry twice at the end, it was so good. Definitely recommend.
Abby does it again!
I swear, just when I think Abby Jimenez has already given us the perfect male character, she somehow raises the bar again. Chris embodies all the traits you just hope to find one day - kind, patient, emotionally aware... just effortlessly good in all the ways that matter.
The story of Chris and Larissa is everything - sweet, emotional, and impossible to put down. And what made it even more special was the beautiful friendships Chris holds onto, even through all of life's triumphs and challenges.
This book felt like a warm hug with just the right amount of heartache and hope. Cute, heartfelt, and completely unforgettable! ❤️
Might be my new favorite!
I don’t know what it is, but this book felt different from all of Jimenez’s previous works, in a good way! The main characters felt fully formed and grounded in reality. Even in moments when I didn’t agree with the choices a character made/didn’t make, the conflicts and reasonings made sense with how said characters were presented in the story. LOVED it!
