""Kiss me. Just this once ... please, Walker."
Those whispered words were my undoing....
As the most hated player in baseball, I had two options: either clean up my image, or pack my bags. Being traded wasn't an option which only meant one thing, I had to become compliant.
That's how I found myself sharing a small bistro table with Kate Chapman, the Chicago Bobbies newest PR Manager. Devastatingly beautiful, vastly intelligent, and incredibly cunning, she knows exactly how to handle my grumpy demeanor.
It was supposed to be simple. Book some PR events, show up, smile for the camera, and be done. But one massive mistake on my end sends me into the trenches with Kate, forcing me to open up to her.
Innocent glances turn into cordial encounters.
Secret touches turn into tempting invitations.
And dangerous nights alone turn into consuming desperation.
I’ve never wanted a woman as much as I want her. And I know she wants me, but there’s a no fraternizing with the players rule. Neither of us can afford to lose our jobs, but we also can't seem to keep our hands off each other, either.

A Fabulously Gripping & Heartfelt Story & Listen 🎧📚🎧
OMG, I loved this book, it is a wonderful sports romance that contains a whole lot of heart. I am a huge fan of Meghan Quinn’s baseball world, especially the players who are not only hot but easy to fall in love with. Walker Rockwell is the catcher for the Bobbies, he is intense and his attitude and temper has gotten him some bad press, to make matters worse he is not hitting the balls. For personal reasons he does not want to be traded, despite clashing with Penn a Pitch who the Bobbies picked up and one he has history with, not good history either. The Bobbies bring in a new P.R. agent, Kate Chapman, one of her assignments is to help Walker clean up his image. Walker is not an easy person to work with but Kate is patient and knows just how to reach him. The chemistry between them is electric but there is a no fraternization policy and neither one want to lose their position with the team. They could only deny each other for so long but then they make a pact to end it but it is not easy for either one of them. But then Walker feels betrayed by something Kate had kept hidden. The depth and complexity to these characters is amazing, as is how much they grew as a person by the end of the book. Walker’s backstory was heartbreaking, as was Penn’s and the reason for their animosity towards each other. I was glad that Penn finally got the help he needed and that he was able to make amends. I loved how everything played out in this book the story is beautifully plotted with plenty of drama, some angst, some humor, lots of heartfelt emotions, some surprising twists and a slow burn and wonderfully hot romance. And kudos to Walker’s agent to looking out and doing the right thing! Meghan Quinn, thanks you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And fabulous narration, Meghan Quinn chose the perfect cast to bring her characters and story to life. Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin are talented narrators and voice artists. They have a complete understanding of the characters they re portraying, I love how they take each role and make it their own, sounding natural and believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
