Horrible voice

I have to deduct a star because the girl reading the story is absolutely awful. She’s so monotone and has absolutely no character to her voice. Every sentence is said the same and ends on the same note, it’s maddening. It makes even the characters sound boring when they shouldn’t be.

🙂 oh god..

Okay
Here we go.
It was cute on Maxon’s side, he was a sweet, romantic and soft unlike most prickly and jerk Princes in most books/films now a days, I rather liked him. But here I go: America …haughty, needy but hates attention, sort of leading the prince on. Here she was hiding from her ex behind the prince, the prince is supposed to fall in love with a girl and choose a wife; with America constantly looking for his attention he was bound to fall in love with her. Damsel in distress anyone?
She had said she was gonna help him pick a wife, but giving him “insiders information on the girls” I might have missed that because that only happened for the 1 time she put in a good word that “Marlee is a sweet and nice girl” and quickly that plan went out the window. America had the constant tendency to take out her frustration and annoyance with Maxon, who didn’t have anything to do with it. She asked him to stop kissing her so she could sort out her feelings but would run into his arms the first chance she got.
She was also someone who tends to hide away when a situation gets hard, weird or awkward.
She felt the right to always scold him and he couldn’t, which is why when the Celeste topic came up, I wasn’t surprised he didn’t want to talk about. Then Aspen comes into the palace as a guard. America would be annoyed or even jealous of Maxon kissing other girls and there she was, as soon as she was mad at Maxon, kissing Aspen.
“Now that I found my ability to command I wasn’t afraid to use it”
For someone messing up so royally she felt like she was already a royal. She hated people commanding her but was quick to fall into a role.
… and I don’t know if I want to continue the series. 🙂

Disappointed

I loved Reading these books but I am so disappointed that I spent money on the audio version. The narrator truly ruined it. Her voice was very flat and brought no life to the story at all. I wish I would have listened to the audio sample before spending money on it
