The Best of the Series, So Far
The writer gets to play his game his way, in a fanciful, wide-ranging, at times horrific, and fantastically mysterious way. He leaves the environment out of the picture more than he does in Book 2 and Book 3; holding us instead in a shroud of grim and gruesome atmosphere. The conclusion is the hardest-hitting and also the most heartfelt and completely full-circle, of the books in the series, so far.
