When you need all the cliches
As a near exclusive romance reader I know the formulas for romance novels. When I picked this book it was because I needed something familiar after reading Dune. Great book, but lacking the romance I love. So when this book started and I knew instantly I was getting the grumpy/sunshine troupe I was like, alright. I dig it. Then the more money than god with all the connections at an early age kicks in. Cool. Then the age difference (not by much), then the forbidden love, then the tortured past. This one does kick it up a little by giving both of them tortured past. I can go on and on, but this book is full of every cliche that romance readers love and people who don’t read romance make fun of us for. It’s well written and I don’t mind either voice actor, even if Aden Snow is talking too low sometimes and I have to turn my phone volume all the up just to hear. If you are looking for a complex book with fresh new ideas and nice spins on things, don’t get this book. But if you are looking for the familiar of a swoon worthy book and either love or love to make fun of the cliches, this book is perfect. I probably won’t read the rest as I do tend to lean into more complex, but I love this book for knowing what it’s supposed to be and giving you exactly what you asked for in a cheesy romance novel 5/5
Don’t buy this audiobook. Read the physical book!!
I don’t recommend getting this book on audio. The female narrator was horrible. The male narrator wasn’t the best either. I suggest physically reading the book. I give the book (once I started physically reading it) 5 stars. The audio honestly gets zero stars, but because I have to give it a star, I’m giving it one star. I want my money back for this book. Apple needs to offer refunds on terrible audiobooks.
Amazing
This book was amazing from start to finish I’m in love with Alex and Ava. I love when he calls her sunshine just overall an amazing book I’m really hoping for a part 2 of their story maybe married with kids and josh comes back in the picture 😩😍
