Is what it is...

Recorded at 32kbps, it takes up a scant 43 mb on your ipod/computer. It keeps it's promise of vocabulary. It comes as two separate files. The first is primarily nouns, adjectvies, adverbs. The second, 45 minute, file is all verbs. The difficulty with this audio book is that, some of the words have nothing to do with with living in East Africa. Such as "subway." There are not many of these though.

Consider also that you will know a lot of words, but there's a lot more to putting them together. For example to say, "He is walking." You would say, "Anatembea." "A" is "he/she," "na" is "present tense" and "kutembea" is "to walk." You will not learn any of this on this on this recording.

This would make an excellent ADDITION to anyone's studies of Kiswahili and that is why give it 4 stars. It is what it is.

Not helpful without accompanying book

No organization - the recording starts and ends with random words. You don't know what's coming next. I was surprised to find one of the first words on the recording is "the spinach." How is that useful? I planned to listen to the whole book flying over to Africa, but I stopped after about 10 minutes because it is just not useful. Don't buy it!
