Publisher Description
Thoreau's classic account of the solitary life, describing his attempts to simplify his life and sort out his priorities by living alone in a cabin beside Walden Pond for nearly two years, is one of the most influential books ever written. The bible of the environmental movement,
Walden vividly portrays Thoreau's reverence for nature, and his understanding of the idea that nature is made up of crucially interrelated parts.

Walden Pond
Very well read, great book.

Awful.
I started reading the book but found the prose difficult to get through. It was a bit choppy. This narrator reads it in this choppy fashion. What's worse is that he lends an angry tone to the narrative making it sound like a very self righteous portrayal of this classic piece of literature. I couldn't finish it and will probably never finish the book as the narrator has put an awful taste in my mouth. I do not recommend this version although the price was right and the other narrations are considerably higher priced.
